Rebecca Reeves

Dr. Rebecca Reeves, DrPH, R.D.

In the spring of 2004, Dr. Reeves was elected President of the American Dietetic Association (ADA).

 

Dr. Reeves is the Project Coordinator at Baylor College of Medicine for the Look Ahead study. She is responsible for overseeing the overall conduct of the study, assuring that everything runs smoothly and is implemented according to plan. Dr. Reeves is also Managing Director for the Behavioral Medicine Research Center where she has worked for the past 29 years. She is actively involved with the American Dietetic Association (ADA) having held several local and state offices including Speaker of the House of Delegates and Chairman of the Obesity Task Force. Recently, Dr. Reeves was instrumental in launching the Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group for the ADA. For distinguished service to her professional association, she received the Medallion Award two years ago. Outside of work, Dr. Reeves enjoys traveling with her husband, singing in her church choir, and participating in a variety of outdoor activities including biking, hiking, and running. Last year, she and her husband rode on a tandem in the MS-150 bike ride from Houston to Austin, 180+ miles! When asked about daily living, Dr. Reeves responded...."Treat everyone with respect, dignity, and compassion, and you will be repaid two-fold."
